Members of the UATUC, i.e. members of the trade unions affiliated to the UATUC are entitled to free-of-charge legal assistance. Thus in the Workers’ House in Zagreb we have five lawyers who provide free-of-charge legal assistance, together with seven lawyers in individual trade unions affiliated to the UATUC (Metalworkers’ Trade Union of Croatia, Commercial Trade Union of Croatia, Trade Union of Construction Industry of Croatia, Trade Union of Tourism and Services of Croatia, Trade Union of Textile, Footwear, Leather, Rubber Industry of Croatia, Trade Union of the Employed in Agriculture, Food, Tobacco and Water Industries of Croatia, Autonomous Trade Union of Workers in Power Industry, Chemistry and Non-Metal Industry of Croatia). Besides, a network consisting of fifteen lawyers enables the service of legal assistance in the UATUC regional centres.
As of April 2004, the UATUC has the free-of-charge telephone 0800 200 004, and each day, from 10:00 to 14:00, our lawyers - experts in labour law and kindred issues, are on duty, and at this telephone people can get information and advices related to labour and social rights of workers, collective rights, works councils’ work, occupational safety and health, trade union and human rights.

Centre for Industrial Democracy |

CID is an association for professional and practical education and training for the trade union work. The Centre has been functioning since 1996, and the School for social dialogue has been organized within its activities, intended for shop stewards, trade union leaders and everyone involved in the trade union work. One-year programme of the School includes seven seminars on various topics such as collective bargaining, labour legislation, industrial actions, occupational safety and health, social policy, international trade union organizations, ILO, globalization and social aspect of the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union. Lecturers are trade union experts and university professors.

13th May – Day of the Open Door |

Is a day when we celebrate the birthday of our confederation. Different events are organized on that day in Zagreb and in all regional centres of the UATUC. The objective is to bring the work of the Confederation closer to the membership, as well as to Croatian citizens in general. The central happening of the Day of the Open Door are expert assemblies organized with the aim to indicate the burning problems of the Croatian workforce, and are followed by a series of happenings such as exhibition of trade union photos, info desks, legal assistance, and charity actions. |

The UATUC publishes a fortnightly magazine Trade Union Action.
Publishing activity also comprises numerous expert publications in labour law, occupational safety and health, European social policy and translations of relevant studies on labour and social issues, social dialogue, development of SMEs, etc.
UATUC is especially proud of its two unique publications: dictionaries of trade union and related terms in English and in French.
