In the interest of facilitating the following of the European and global trends, in the conditions of growing technological development, globalization and market liberalization, the UATUC attaches great importance to the international cooperation.

The UATUC is the only trade union confederation in Croatia that is an active participant of the international trade union movement. Since 27th November 1996 the UATUC has been a member of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions – ICFTU (now ITUC, as of November 2006), and since 2004 a full member of the European Trade Union Confederation.

With its work in these organizations, the UATUC promotes the interests of its members. The UATUC regularly organizes expert counseling and gathers opinions of the international experts on current issues from the field of labour and social legislation and trade union work.

The UATUC actively cooperates with the International Labour Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations in which trade unions are equal partners to employers and governments in the decision-making process, and which monitors the implementation of the labour standards in Croatia, indicating the breaches of thereof.
