Split, 28 August – After meeting with the Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, during which they received confirmation that the Government has paid minimal salary for workers in Split Ironworks for June, and a promise that solution for remaining salaries and the future of the company will be found by the end of October, four shop stewards cancelled strike hunger started four days ago.

Metalworkers' Trade Union shop stewards announced that the trade union will sustain from all trade union actions by the end of October, stating that they are satisfied with what has been achieved, and that this was a maximum at the moment.
