Zagreb, 31 August – UATUC initiated a procedure in front of the Constitutional Court on the legality of the Law on the special tax on salaries, retirements and other income. The Law is being disputed on the basis of violating the constitutional principles of proportionality, fairness as well as horizontal and vertical equality of the tax system which stipulate that the tax burden must be distributed according to the economic capacity.

Furthermore, the implementation of the Law puts into question declaration of Republic of Croatia as a social state, ignoring the responsibility to guarantee a social welfare, justice and security for the citizens.
