Opatija, 18 January 2010 – On 14 and 15 January 2010 a seminar was held within ICEM-IUF project for young trade unionists. About twenty participants from the Autonomous Trade Union of Workers in Power Industry, Chemistry and Non-Metal Industry of Croatia (EKN) and Trade Union of Tourism and Services of Croatia (STUH) were able to hear about representation of young people in German companies and developing trade union youth structures. The lecturer was Nadine Boltersdorf, young regional representative of German trade union of food processing industry, service and catering (NGG). Duška Lončar and Maja Mirt Bićanić from STUH talked about the new Croatian Labour Code which entered into force as of 1 January 2010, trade union statute and possibility of organizing youth section.

STUH Youth Section was founded at the seminar and Žaklina Begić from Pelikan Bookmakers d.o.o. Zagreb was elected its president.
