The UATUC Women’s Section

The Women’s Section gathers women union members who wish to join the fight for gender equality in the world of work and in the union.

The UATUC Women’s Section is an interest group within the UATUC that advocates gender equality in all areas of social life and, in particular, works to improve the position of women in matters of employment and in the workplace.
The Women’s Section encourages and supports the inclusion of as many women as possible in trade union work and activities in order to achieve their proportional representation on the decision-making bodies of the UATUC and its associated trade unions and to inspire a stronger impact by women trade unionists on trade union policies.
The UATUC Women’s Section is a member of Women’s Network Croatia, the umbrella association of non-governmental women’s organisations; and of the Women’s Network of the Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-PERC) for central and eastern Europe. It also participates in the informal coordination of the activities of women in Croatian trade unions.
The UATUC Women’s Section regularly cooperates with the Ombuds Office for Gender Equality of the Republic of Croatia, the Committee for Gender Equality of the Croatian Parliament and with numerous non-governmental associations.
